Futures of Academic Publishing - UNT's 4th Symposium on Open Access


UNT's 4th Annual Symposium on Open Access will take place May 30-31, 2013.

This year's conference will bring together key stakeholders from for-profit and academic publishing, academic research, and libraries to discuss the Futures of Academic Publishing.

Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Director of Scholarly Communication at the Modern Language Association, will deliver the Keynote Address. She is the author of Planned Obsolescence: Publishing, Technology, and the Future of the Academy, which was published by NYU Press in November 2011; Planned Obsolescence was released in draft form for open peer review in fall 2009. She is co-founder of the digital scholarly network MediaCommons, and has published articles and notes in journals including the Journal of Electronic Publishing, PMLA, Contemporary Literature, and Cinema Journal.
